- Ver.di union strikes local transport on Monday
- Chemnitzer Verkehrs-AG and Städtische Verkehrsbetriebe Zwickau (SVZ) are affected
- City-Bahn serves Chemnitz and the surrounding area with several scheduled lines
Chemnitz - The service union Ver.di plans to strike bus and tram services in Chemnitz and Zwickau on Monday (2 February 2026). The City-Bahn Chemnitz is not affected and will run according to the timetable: www.city-bahn.de.
Those affected by the Ver.di strike in our region are CVAG (www.cvag.de) and SVZ (www.nahverkehr-zwickau.de).
The City-Bahn Chemnitz will not be on strike as it is conducting its collective bargaining negotiations with the German Train Drivers' Union (GDL).
City-Bahn Managing Director Friedbert Straube: „On the axes Chemnitz main station central station and on towards Technopark or Altchemnitz, the City-Bahn serves the stops in the Chemnitz city area.“
The C11, C13, C14 and some of the C15 lines will run as follows on Monday.
- C11: Chemnitz main station central stop Annaberger Straße Altchemnitz Klaffenbach Stollberg and back: The line runs every 30 minutes.
- C13 BurgstädtChemnitz main station central station Reitbahnstraße Reichenhainer Straße Technopark Aue and back. The line runs every hour.
- C14 Mittweida Chemnitz main station central station Reitbahnstraße Reichenhainer Straße Technopark Thalheim and back. The line runs every hour.
- Line C15 Hainichen Chemnitz currently ends at Chemnitz main station and serves the Chemnitz city area Hilbersdorf. The line runs every hour.
