Frequently asked questions

Is the Chemnitz City-Bahn currently running? Are there any service disruptions?

City-Bahn publishes information on current disruptions, engineering works and rail replacement services under „Latest News“ or in the disruption overview on city-bahn.de, as well as on Instagram and Facebook. If you have any questions, please call the helpline on 0371 495 795 222.

Disruptions on the C11 line (Chemnitz – Stollberg) are usually caused by engineering works or staff shortages; in such cases, replacement buses may be provided. You can find the latest updates in the news section on city-bahn.de.

In 2024, there were several strikes during the collective bargaining dispute with the train drivers’ union GDL. On 1 August 2024, both sides reached a collective agreement.
