The union wants no trains to run until Monday evening (29 January) at 6 pm. Deutsche Bahn is also affected.<br \/><\/b><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0a4d6d9 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"0a4d6d9\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The core issue is still the trade union's attempt to enforce the 35-hour week, which is not possible due to the current staffing situation. City-Bahn Managing Director Friedbert Straube: <em>\"Striking the city railway for six days is excessive.\"<\/em> The GDL was not prepared to negotiate with City-Bahn at all - apart from a single, but very brief, round. Friedbert Straube: \"<em>The union only wants to negotiate if I agree to the 35-hour working week beforehand. That's the only way to prevent strikes. These are not negotiations at eye level. It's blackmail.\" <\/em>However, the 35-hour week leads to poorer rather than better working conditions and fewer trains on the City-Bahn.<\/p><p>Despite the call to strike, the City-Bahn will run the morning \"school trains\" on C11 (Chemnitz  Stollberg), C13 (Burgst\u00e4dt  Chemnitz  Aue) and RB92 (Stollberg  Glauchau). Straube: <em>\"Over the course of Wednesday and Thursday, we will find out whether we can offer further connections with trains or replacement buses.
